Tantric Dance Year and a Day Program

What is Tantric Dance?

Tantric Dance of the Divine Feminine is a sensuous movement meditation.  It is spontaneous, womb-centered, contained, serpentine, and pleasurable!  Unlike other forms of dance, it is not technique oriented, but process oriented.  It is a devotional or meditation “practice” in the sense that one returns to it again and again to reconnect with one’s source, or core energy.  Women are organic carriers of source energy, or shakti, through our womb-space, place of sexual/sensual/creative power.  We allow this power to come through our dance with a spirit of devotion.  And as we deepen into our sensitivity and refinement and capacity to hold energy, we learn to vibrate with pleasure at higher and higher frequencies. When practiced over time, the Dance creates alignment—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—and the effects are felt as alignment spontaneously occurs in our lives.  It is an accelerated path.

Why “A Year and a Day”?

A year and a day is a traditional initiatory period in many magical traditions.  Kathy Kali has chosen this 13 month time frame in order to create intimacy, trust, and a container for deepening with the work.   It is essential that the Tantric Dance practice be experienced over time; both to shed habitual thought/body patterns and also to surrender and deepen into one’s core energy.  The most accelerated method to do this is with a weekly Dance practice.  In the Year and a Day program the sessions will only occur monthly, but will be longer than a weekly class.  The program does not include a formal ordination, but there will be a ceremony of completion at the end of the program to honor the work accomplished.

How do I register?
You can download a registration form from Kathy Kali’s website, www.tantricdance.org.  Fill it out, sign, and mail to Kathy Kali, c/o Lotus Moon Temple, 3013 Cedar Flat Road, Williams, OR 97544.  Include check, or pay via paypal on website.

What kind of experience does Kathy have?
Kathy Kali has taught and performed belly dance, sacred song, and women’s ritual for 15 years.  She has a degree in Women’s Studies, is a Certified Hypnotherapist, and has undergone the Red Door Priestess Training in women’s mysteries.  Her discovery of tantric dance has led to a complete re-alignment of her life in service to this powerful practice, which has evolved into Tantric Dance of the Divine Feminine.  Kathy is Director of the Lotus Moon Temple in Southern Oregon, and is a featured presenter for the Women of Wisdom Foundation in Seattle.

Kathy is more than happy to speak with you about any questions you might have.  Call her at (541)846-0631 or emailkathykali@tantricdance.org

What kind of experience is required?
None.  In fact, dance, yoga, or meditation experience can get in the way of learning the Dance, at least initially.  One has to let go of old thought/body patterns and allow innate body wisdom to lead. Once a woman allows her core energy to move her spontaneously, the cellular memory of, say, belly dance, yoga, or breathwork, can come through organically to enrich her experience.

Do I have to pay for the program all at once?
No, although there is a sizeable discount if you do.  3 different payment plans are available(see registration form). All payment is due in full by the beginning of the program in order to participate.  Payment is available via paypal on the website(www.tantricdance.org)or check.  Choose one payment option on registration form.
